Arizona Windshield Replacement

FAQ - Windshields

We're always ready to help. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about windshields. Please contact us with any additional questions you might have about our service, pricing, scheduling, products, and availability.

Q: Should I REPAIR or REPLACE my windshield?

A: Most insurance carriers agree that if the damage to your windshield is greater than the size of a half-dollar, or if the damage is located in the driver’s ‘line of sight’ – replacement is often the only solution.

Q: How long will my repair or replacement take?

A: In many cases, windshield repairs can be completed in 30 minutes or less. Windshield replacements will often take 60 minutes or less, however, we recommend that you do not drive the vehicle for at least (1) hour after service is completed to allow the urethane to cure.

Q: How long before I can safely drive my vehicle?

A: Our technicians use the best materials, including the industry’s first adhesives with a one-hour drive-away time for windshield installations. The technician will advise you if any additional time is required. If we are replacing glass where no urethane is needed, then the service usually takes less than an hour and no cure time is needed.

Q: What if the difference between OEM and OEE glass?

A: We install Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) glass or OEM-Equivalent (OEE) auto glass parts. This means that it is essentially the same piece of glass that was installed at the time your vehicle was made, with the only difference being the windshield manufacturer.

Q: How soon can the job be completed?

A: In many cases, we can get you scheduled for service to be completed the very next day. In case of vandalism, or other emergency, we will do our best to serviced same day. Call us now to check our availability.

Q: Will my insurance pay for a dealer glass?

A: Each insurance company has their own restrictions on the use of dealer parts.  Usually if your car is 1-2 years old, or even a high end car, the insurance carrier will authorize us to use the dealer products.  If your insurance provider will not authorize payment for dealer parts, we can use the parts you wish, and just charge you the difference.  Either way, we will do whatever we can to ensure your satisfaction.

Q: What if I only have liability coverage?

A: Because liability insurance only provides coverage for damages to another vehicle, auto glass services are not covered under your liability policy. Clear Cut offers multiple payment options including cash, checks, VISA, and MasterCard.Call us today for a quote!

Q: Do I need to contact my agent before I contact Clear Cut?

A: No, we’re experts at verifying coverage, filing the claim, and handling all the paperwork. Just call our office and let us help with the process.

Q: Will filing a glass claim on my insurance cause my rates to go up?

A: In many cases, insurance companies will not count auto glass damage as a claim on your policy that would raise your insurance rates. To be certain, please refer to your policy, or contact your agent and/or insurance provider to confirm your specific coverage.

Q: What about scheduling an appointment?

A: We’re happy to complete the repair or replacement of your auto glass anywhere that’s convenient to you and your schedule. We provide service all over the greater Phoenix area, Tucson, and even in many cities throughout Northern Arizona. Check our service area to find out more, or simply give us a call.
